THE MOUSETRAP

In addition to being one of Agatha Christie's most famous works, The Mousetrap has the distinction of being the world's longest continually running play. The original production, at London's Ambassador Hotel, has been running continuously since 1952! It has by far the longest initial run of any play in history, with its 25,000th performance taking place on 18 November 2012. The play is known for its twist ending, which the audience are traditionally asked not to reveal after leaving the theatre.

PRESS

"This is Agatha Christie's best play, in my opinion. We are excited to bring audiences a classic mystery but in a production which pushes it forward for today's audiences," - Broadway World

Agatha Christie’s “The Mousetrap” has certainly stood the test of time — it is still running in London’s West End 62 years after it opened in 1952 — and Dorset Theatre Festival’s stylish performance goes a long way toward showing why. - Times Argus
