Casting/Auditions

Dorset Theatre Festival works under the SPT (Small Professional Theatre) contract with Actors Equity Association. The union determines the number of Equity and non-Equity actors in any production.

Equity Public Auditions for the summer season are generally held in March at the Dorset Playhouse in Dorset, Vermont. Audition notices are posted on the AEA Audition Center website and various trade publications.

Any further auditions in New York City are arranged through agent submissions and scheduled by a casting director.

Actors may send a photo and resume to the following addresses:

Literary Submissions

Playwrights must submit their work through an established agent or a professional recommendation.

We are unable to accept unsolicited scripts or samples for consideration.

Submissions are accepted year-round. Unsolicited manuscripts will not be reviewed.
